Eagle Beach, Aruba (ContentDesk) August 2, 2005 -? The independently owned and operated Bucuti Beach Resort understands that a good night's sleep is important for the leisure traveler too. That is why the resort has installed "Divine Dreams" beds in all of its Tara Beach Suites and will install in all of the Bucuti wing suites once the summer renovations are completed in November 2005. Additionally, due to overwhelming guest response, the resort now offers the mattresses for purchase. Made for Bucuti Beach Resort by Simmons?, the Divine Dreams mattress is 12 inches thick, features 850 Pocketed Coil? springs and plush top layer offering a supple surface with firm support beneath.???? "A recent survey said that 63% of all respondents rank a good night's sleep as the most important service a hotel can provide," states Susan Biemans, co-owner. "We listen to our guests and go to great lengths to tailor our amenities and infrastructure to provide the ultimate guest experience. The Divine Dreams beds take our romantic retreat to the next level."An innovator, the Bucuti Beach Resort has stayed ahead of trends and anticipated guest's needs. The resort was the first on the island to feature king-sized oceanfront suites, Wifi hot spots and advance check in via the Internet. Additionally, the resort features three webcams that broadcast live from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and a web cam zoom from 9:00 am to 9:15 am every morning. With such critical attention to detail, it is easy to see why Bucuti Beach Resort builds loyalty amongst guests, from their very first stay. A TripAdvisor member from North Carolina recently had this to say about their honeymoon at Bucuti Beach Resort: "We've loved every minute of the last seven days. The hotel is wonderful, especially the Tara Suites, which are very European in style and are equipped with Wi-Fi service. This was our first visit to Aruba and when we return it will definitely be to the Bucuti resort."Ideally located on the most secluded part of Eagle Beach, Aruba, Bucuti Beach Resort blends personal service and charm with all the magic and of this famous destination. This intimate island retreat is a short stroll from all the excitement of colorful Aruba, international shopping, dining for every taste, casinos and sun soaked shores with world-class recreation.
Copyright 2006 Allen Shaw

Take my word for it, no matter how much you want your new puppy to sleep with you, this is not the best option. Especially when you're dealing with a 75-pound behemoth that's scared of a little thunder. Your king-sized bed suddenly becomes half a twin-size bed. So next to food and a trip to the vet, a good dog bed should be one of your first major purchases. But what kind of dog bed should you get? There are literally hundreds of choices. For instance:

Large dog beds for the type of dog mentioned in the first paragraph

Outdoor beds for the pooch who prefers sleeping under the stars

Fancy designer beds for the pampered pooch that's probably related to Paris Hilton's Tinkerbelle

Travel and car beds for the dogs who spend a lot of time on the road

Heated beds for the cold-natured little breeds

Orthopedic beds for the pooches getting up there in age Iron beds for the decorating pooches in your household

Chew-proof beds for?well?you know

And waterproof beds for the little pups who sometimes get a little scared at night?you know what I mean.

But no matter the bed you buy, there are a couple of rules you should be aware of. First, make sure every part of the bed is machine washable. No matter how many times you wash your dog, he's going to manage to smell up that bed. And if it's a bed you keep in your own bedroom, the odors that will eventually emanate from that bed will give you nightmares.

Second, get a bed with cedar shavings or a thick foam pad as the padding. This will help immensely with keeping your favorite flea friends from becoming permanent residents of your dog's bed. Third, make sure you buy the right size dog bed. If possible, take your dog with you when you buy the bed. No matter how cute the bed is, or how well it goes with your home d?cor, if your dog can't comfortably lay down in the bed, he won't use it.

Also, pay close attention to what the bed is made of. Wicker is cute and very stylish. But fleas love it. And for the dog that hasn't quite gotten over the chewing stage yet, a wicker bed is little more than the world's largest chew toy. Beanbags are also popular dog beds because most people born in the late 60s still have one stowed away in their basements or attics somewhere (yes you do, admit it). But have you ever seen what's inside a beanbag? You will find out very quickly if Fido discovers how to operate the zipper that keeps the stuffing in the bag. You would be wise to leave the beanbag in the attic and open your wallet cheapskate.

So now that you've done the research, go out and buy your new best friend a great bed. Remember to get the proper size. Get one with cedar shaving or foam as the padding. Make sure all parts of the bed are machine washable. And most importantly, make sure Fido likes the bed or you will have an unwanted visitor in the middle of the night?especially when there's thunder.

The bed is the centerpiece of any bedroom. Beds range from straw-filled to extravagant and rich. The early civilizations had beds that were beautifully decorated. Egyptians slept on couches that had legs shaped in the form of animals. These couches were covered with ivory, gold or paint. Since the Greeks used couches for both dining and sleeping, they were made to accommodate both. As time passed the beds became larger and ornamental. The nobility and the wealthy had elaborately decorated beds referred to as state beds. These beds were hung with silk, velvet or other fabrics. Beds often served as symbols of social rank and wealth.

Today, a simple frame that can support a mattress is preferred by most. A wide variety of beds are available to suit varied styles and different budgets. To decide what kind of bed fits your bedroom and budget, determine the style, design and size of the bed that you are looking for. The size of the bed should be in proportion to the size of the bedroom.

Some beds have a headboard and footboard that curve upward almost shaped like a sleigh. This bed fits well in a bedroom with a low ceiling. There are four-poster beds that have canopies that can be closed at night. There are elaborate beds made of iron or brass. Some beds have upholstered footboards and headboards. These beds are designed for comfort allowing you to sit back and read.

Some beds come equipped as two beds in one. There is a second bed attached under the main bed that can be pulled out when needed. When storage is an issue, the ideal bed has a mattress that is supported by a platform with provision for drawers and space for storage. Named for its designer, space saving "Murphy beds" fold into a wall unit when not in use. Other types of beds include bunk beds, air beds, water beds and beds specially designed for children.

The bed is the most important feature in a bedroom. Do your homework before choosing one. The correct size and the style can definitely transform your bedroom into a beautiful space..

In an ever increasing market for the ultimate Sleep System, most people still believe that the Adjustable Bed which was originally used in Hospitals and Homes for the Elderly are still that. A bed that can help the elderly in and out of bed! Although they are extremely helpful in these situations, they can also be very important for anybody in today's lifestyle.

Now any sincere knowledgeable mattress salesman won't push the watching TV or reading in bed, it's not something that we should recommend. But with today's lifestyles, this has become a normal way of life for some people. Sitting in bed watching TV, working to make the big deadline is OK, if that's your choice. But propping up two pillows every 3 minutes is probably not doing any good to your back or any other part of your body for that matter. If this sounds like you, maybe your next mattress purchase should have an adjustable base as well.

There are many "side affects" from poor sleep and sleep habits that might also be a clue for you to check out the benefits of the adjustable bed. Some of the health issues are back problems, neck and shoulder pain, arthritis, circulatory problems, gastric reflux at night, snoring, breathing problems. Not only does an adjustable bed provide serious convenience with regards to helping people in and out of bed but there are many health benefits that can be taken advantage of for anyone.

Tossing and turning at night on their mattress is the most common reason that people don't sleep well at night. The main reason people toss and turn at night is pressure points; traditional coil and spring mattresses put pressure on different areas of your body causing restricted circulation to those areas, when your body becomes uncomfortable you turn to a new position. Another reason for tossing and turning is improper spinal alignment. All traditional mattresses are flat but our bodies are curved, the traditional mattress fails to offer the lumbar region enough support often allowing your lower back and hips to sink below the rest of your body. This causes pressure and discomfort in that area which causes your body to turn to a new position.

Adjustable sleep systems offer you several great benefits. Obviously, the adjustable base is only that, an adjustable base. To get all the benefits out of your adjustable base you need the proper mattress to work with it. Together they can create a totally pressure free environment while you sleep. Many studies have been done with the space program; the best known is the creation of memory foam. But there is more that was learned from the way astronauts sleep in space. Well our astronauts sleep in a totally pressure free environment experience all the time, floating in space. In studying the way astronauts sleep in space we have discovered a few interesting things. First off, their heads stay slightly elevated allowing for easier breathing. Secondly and probably more importantly, we see that their knees naturally bend and elevate slightly above the heart. This position takes pressure off the spine and allows for increased blood flow to the heart.

Only an adjustable bed can mimic this extremely comfortable and healthy position. Keeping your body in our natural sleep position reduces the pressure on your skeletal frame more than 85% ensuring you will get the deepest most restful sleep possible.

What to Look For

An adjustable sleep system consists of two parts, the base and the mattress.

The Base: There are really two types of adjustable beds, the commercial model used in Hospitals and regular consumer models. The commercial product is very heavy duty and usually has rails on the sides to help someone pull themselves up. These models are extremely expensive and are not very esthetically pleasing for home use, unless your health requires it.

- Concentrate on the frame construction; you want the heavy duty construction with the look of an elegant piece of furniture. Preferably, a regular box spring appearance giving you the ability to dress it how you like it.
- Look for quality motors at the "head and foot." Make sure they are UL Listed and CSA approved. Preferably a Freefall Design so the head and foot sections lower by gravity only, this will ensure the motor gets extended life. Also ensure that it's equipped with insulated rubber wheels for smooth, quiet operation.
- A Polarized "Modular" electrical system is the way to go as it ensures you won't have any stray wires and with the plug-in feature makes service a snap.
- Look for at least a 50 degree incline at "both head and foot", 60 degrees is optimal.
- Make sure the legs have threaded glides allowing you to adjust the height of the bed to your liking.
- Now depending on your preference, make sure there's the availability of a massager. I don't know about you but I like the massager, it provides that little bit extra pampering you need at the end of some days. Some brands you have no choice, either you get it and pay for it or you can't get it. Having a choice is always nice.
- Same goes for the remote, it's nice to have the choice between wired or wireless.

The Mattress: Your mattress is the single most important component of any bed, adjustable or not, even if your foundation was the corner of 4th and Main. The proper mattress should provide the proper support, pressure relief and spinal alignment even in this situation.

- Many companies only offer coil and spring mattresses with their adjustable bases. This is not exactly the best case scenario. The coil and spring mattresses are not very pliable and don't really work well with an adjustable base and often need replacing every five years.
- There are other very luxurious choices "at a fraction of the price" that you would benefit from with use of your adjustable base. All are designed to offer you pressure relief, proper spinal alignment and a more breathable sleep surface. Air Mattress Beds work well with the adjustable base when they are equipped with horizontal chambers, the chambers follow the contour of the bed nicely. Although this works well, it's still not the optimal choice.
- Try looking at a Memory Foam or Latex mattress, these mattresses are made from highly specialized foams and are more durable and pliable than coils and springs, as a result they will work in unison with the adjustable base to provide you with the ultimate adjustable sleep experience. Not to mention your mattress will most probably last for its intended life and these foam mattresses can go for twenty years.
- The final tip is to stay away from the deal that promises, "Mattress Included" rarely does this mean your getting any quality in the mattress they're giving you. Just "FOAM" doesn't mean Memory or Latex foam; check it out to make sure.
So depending on your lifestyle or if your health dictates (I hope this isn't the case) check out all the health and convenience benefits of a quality adjustable bed, but don't forget the "quality" mattress!

There is an easy and inexpensive way of adding class to any bedroom ? just add a canopy bed! Canopy beds may seem difficult to make or expensive to buy, but if you know how to do some improvisation and look for the best deals, you can have your very own in no time at all.

Who says you have to spend thousands of dollars to experience the luxury of a canopy? Just install curtain rods on each end of the bed, hang soft fabrics, and you already have a canopy effect. If you want a makeshift canopy that lasts longer, you can secure a short rod to the ceiling (perpendicular to the head of the bed on both sides). Hang long fabric panels (they should preferably reach the floor), and just tie the fabric back with a nice ribbon or a specially made drapery tieback.

You can also create your own crown canopy by simply cutting a half-circle of three-quarters of an inch of plywood (this is just the right thickness ? it's still easily installable and yet sturdy enough). Attach fabric panels around the outer edge of the plywood. You can then install the crown canopy by either attaching it directly onto the ceiling or securing it to the walls using L-brackets.

Don't have time to do all this handiwork? There's an even easier version of a canopy bed ? and you only need hooks and fabrics to do it. Simply attach a wooden or metal ring to the ceiling above the bed's center. Then drape long fabric panels through it, and pull both ends down to the floor on both sides of the bed. Make sure you attach the ring firmly so that it can hold the weight of fabric, though ? you don't want everything falling on you while you sleep.

There are other ways to create a canopy bed effect without actually purchasing a canopy bed. Let your imagination guide you and you will never go wrong!.

Air mattress beds are no longer considered temporary sleep solutions. These days, air mattress beds are becoming luxurious high-tech alternatives to the traditional and occasionally painful metal spring mattresses that most people currently sleep on. If you're having trouble sleeping, an air mattress bed is definitely an option you may want to consider.

Air mattress beds have the ability to mold to the exact shape of the sleeper's body, giving support where it's needed most. This unique ability eliminates the strain on pressure points that often occurs while sleeping on a coil spring mattress. This can ultimately interfere with the natural alignment of your spine. A mattress that is too hard won't allow for the natural curvature of your spine, while one too soft will allow for abnormal bends in your back. Either way, it spells long-term aches and pains for you without the proper support. Not only that ? as time goes by and the shape of your body changes, you may need a different level of firmness. With air mattress beds, you don't have to worry about going out and buying a brand new mattress (which can be very expensive). You can simply adjust the level of air to fit your new needs.

There are other advantages to sleeping on air mattress beds. If you're an allergy sufferer, you would be pleased to know that air mattress beds are known to relieve certain allergies. The inner springs on traditional coil mattresses are breeding grounds for dust mites, a major contributor to several allergies. However, air mattress beds are typically constructed out of hypoallergenic materials that are naturally dust mite resistant.

It is easy to find the perfect mattress for you, no matter what comfort level you need. In fact, air mattress beds can be the perfect beds for absolutely anyone, no matter what their needs may be!.

I remember vividly the day my family moved from Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Chicago. I was all of ten years old and like any child would be, excited to see the city. My father had received a promotion at the bank he had worked at since well before I was born and we were now leaving the relative comfort of our home for an apartment on Michigan Avenue. Driving into the city was almost surreal, and although sullen over leaving my friends behind, I was enthralled with the possibility of great opportunities that lay ahead. All the wonder and amazement I was experiencing after having traveled through the concrete canyons of the Windy City was soon overshadowed by the news that my father decided to impart to me the moment we entered our new domicile. I would be sharing a room with my younger brother.

I recall the feeling one might have if a death sentence were handed down to him over some petty offense. The fact that they wanted me, a sophisticated young lad who was sure than manhood was only weeks away (and had been for years), to share my personal space with this unworldly little snot-nosed brat was unbearable. Looking back, I now have a great appreciation for sharing a room with my brother and what I learned from the experience, but at the time, I would have preferred a root canal. Although we rarely got along, it didn't take long to get used to the situation. Still, I never got used to sleeping on our bunk bed. Of course, we fought tooth and nail over who would get the top bunk. Once I established dominance, I was free to climb the small metal ladder to my throne on high and become master of all I surveyed in my miniature kingdom below. Unfortunately, my throne left much comfort to be desired, and I was told on more than one occasion that my brother wasn't too happy with his vassel's parcel either. Although the bed was new, it creaked and swayed with the slightest movement and had mattresses that I was certain were made of stone. I became resigned to life with my brother, but neither of us could reconcile with that awful bed. To give you an idea of just how poorly constructed bunk beds were at that time, I left home (and the bunk bed) to join the military at eighteen and on my first night of basic training, felt that I was sleeping in the Lincoln Bedroom at the White House.

It's now a lifetime later and I have two boys of my own. My wife and I recently had a new addition, and she has taken one of their rooms, leaving them with one to share. Recalling with no particular fondness my bed of the past, I set out to find a bunk bed that would at least allow the boys some comfort during sleep. I was pleasantly surprised to find a manufacturer who makes nice beds that actually sleep like a bed should. When searching, I found beds that have storage, full sized mattresses and are solid and sturdy. After careful consideration, I purchased a nice model and brought it home. The minute I had it set up, the age old struggle for top bunk began and I stood there with a grin on my face while my sons argued over who would be king of the hill. While that matter has been settled, they still don't always get along. They do, however, get a good nights sleep. I'm glad bunk beds have changed, because boys haven't. .
